1. Are pets allowed? I have a budgie that's always kept in his cage.

No, sorry. No pets are allowed even if they are small and always kept in a cage.

2. Do you require a damage deposit? If so, how much is it, when would I have to pay it, and do I get it returned if the apartment is in good order when my lease expires?

Strathearn Heights Apartments require a security deposit of $500.00 before you can secure your tenancy with us. Your security deposit will be returned to you within 10 days after the expiry of your lease less any deductions made for outstanding balances owing to the landlord, or cleaning or repairs required.

3. Do you currently have apartments available?

4. How do the plans to redevelop the site affect my lease if I sign up now for an apartment?

Your six-month lease is secure. To ensure everyone is aware of the redevelopment project and given ample time to make alternate housing arrangements as required, each building is given a one-year notice of building demolition. Lease renewals may be amended to terms shorter than six months depending on the on-site redevelopment work.

Strathearn Heights management is committed to keeping all tenants updated about the redevelopment plans.

5. What utility costs are included in my rent?

Heat, water and gas are included in your rent.

6. What utility or other routine costs are not included in my rent? Can you give me an estimate of how much those costs are, per month?

Depending on what services you want, you could consider the following:

  • Electricity. Depending on how many people live in your suite and the time of year, you can assume a monthly charge between $30 and $80.
  • Phone. Charges start from about $25 a month and increase depending on the phone service you want.
  • Cable TV. Charges start from about $35 a month and increase depending on the service you want.
  • Internet. Charges start from about $25 a month and increase depending on the service you want.
  • Laundry. There are eight laundry facilities on site, all operated by a Smart Card that is issued to each tenant. Typically, washing one load of laundry costs about $2. Drying one load of laundry costs about $1.50.

7. What are the parking arrangements and the cost for parking?

Outdoor parking stalls are available for each suite for an extra $20 per month. Garage stalls are an extra $40 per month. Parking on the street is always free!

8. What is a Smart Card?

Strathearn Heights tenants can purchase a Smart Card from the Strathearn Heights office for any dollar amount they choose. The Smart Card is used for laundry services – saving you from worrying about exact change to operate the machines.

9. Is there convenient bus service from Strathearn Heights?

Yes. Edmonton Transit System (ETS) operates several bus routes along 95 Avenue, 95 Street and many different routes along Connors Road. All these locations are near Strathearn Heights Apartments. You will find the following bus stop numbers very useful for researching schedules:
